The manual Bistro pepper grinder symbolizes the company's commitment to protecting our planet's resources. This peppercorn grinder is made from PEFC™-certified beech wood sourced from recycled materials and features a stainless steel mechanism manufactured in France, backed by a lifetime warranty.

The Peugeot, Bistro range, salt and pepper grinders first introduced to the public in 1987, are now the best-selling products in the manufacturer's portfolio. Their classic design, combined with the beech wood from which they are made, makes the Bistro grinders a perfect choice for any kitchen.

During the manufacturing of Peugeot peppercorn grinders, some of the wood is discarded throughout the various quality control stages if it presents minor visual imperfections. The wood, whose intrinsic qualities remain unaffected, is recycled through sandblasting to create a textured finish and is then protected with a plant-based varnish. This process reveals the wood grain and gives this manual pepper grinder its distinctive appearance.

Lifetime warranty mechanisms
Peugeot mechanisms are specially developed according to their intended purpose. The peppercorn grinders feature a toughten stainless steel grinding mechanism equipped with two rows of helical teeth that efficiently guide the peppercorns. The first, larger row is designed to crack the peppercorns, while the second ensures a perfectly consistent grind.

Which types of peppercorns are recommended?

Dry, hard black, white, or green peppercorns with a maximum diameter of approximately 5 mm are recommended. Pink peppercorns may only be used in a blend (maximum 15% pink peppercorns) with one of the previously mentioned peppercorn varieties. Dried coriander seeds can also be used in Peugeot pepper grinders.
